Linage of Tirth Order

     

The begining Shaktipat Tradition and Tirth Order is not known. It is as ancient as Hindu religion. The above linage is what is known today. Most of the information is gathered from the books written by Swami Vishnu Tirth Ji Maharaj  or Swami Shivom Tirth Ji Maharaj, or as told by my Gurudev, Swami Govindanand Tirth Ji Maharaj.

There is no photograph or picture of HH Swami Parmanand Tirth Ji Maharaj and Swami Mukund Tirth Ji Maharaj availble.

Shown in the image are Gurus of Linage of Tirth Order. At the top are HH Swami Shri Gangadhar Tirth Ji Maharaj. Swami Visunu Tirth Ji Maharaj saw HH Swami Gangadhar Tirth Ji Maharaj in his sadhanavastha (the stage of meditation). Then He get this picture done by the help of an artist.

On the second line from the top are Swami Shri Narayan Tirth Ji Maharaj. He was initiated into the Shaktipat by HH Swami Shri Gangadhar Tirth Ji Maharaj.

Right to Him is Shri Yoganand Vigyani Ji Maharaj. He was the desciple of Swami Shri Narayan Tirth Ji Maharaj. Swamiji initiated Shri Vigyani Ji Maharaj into the order of Shaktipat.

The most intelligent desciple of Vigyani Ji maharaj was Shri Vishnu Tirth Ji Maharaj (on the right hand side at the second line from bottom). But since Vigyani Ji Maharaj was not a sanyasi, He asked Vishu Tirth Ji Maharaj to take sanyas initiation from the Kashi Shankracharya (Shown left to Vigyani Ji Maharaj).

Swami Visnu Tirth Ji Maharaj's most loving desciple was Swami Shivom Tirth Ji Maharaj. He is shown at the last line of the picture. 

Swami Govindanand Tirth Ji Maharaj, shown in the next photo, is initiated into the Shaktipat tradition by Swami Shivom Tirth Ji Maharaj. His Sanyas initation was also done by Swami Shivom Tirth Ji Maharaj. Currently He is taking care of Yoga Shri Peeth Ashram, Rishikesh.
